Throughout WWE’s short history we have seen multiple title changes throughout the span of almost 2 years. It may seem like champs drop their titles their very first defense while for some it may be true *cough* Sasha Banks *cough* for others it’s not. There have been some champs who were able to stick it out and give their divisions a good run for their money and stay on top of the mountain for quite some time. Lets look at the top 10 longest title reigns in our history.
1.Alexa Bliss-SmackDown Women’s Champion-204 Days
A reign that will possibly never be broken. Alexa Bliss is the first ever champion in WWE and set the record many women will hope to one day soon pass. Shortly after her title win WWE went inactive for about 2 months and then picked back up where it left off, with Alexa Bliss dominating her competition. She had her first title defense on an episode of SmackDown against Mickie James where she would win. She would then pick up another victory against former #1 contender Asuka shortly after the return of regular competition. At the royal rumble she successfully defended her title in a fatal 4 way match against Naomi, Becky Lynch, and Bianca BelAir ending the formers undefeated streak in the process. She would then go on to defend her title successfully at Elimination Chamber once again. At WrestleMania I, she would defend her title in the main event against Ember Moon and Royal Rumble winner Sasha Banks. It was here where the legendary and historic reign of Bliss would end as Sasha would lastly tap out the champion to win her first Women’s Title in WWE ending the Goddess’ reign at 204 days.
2. Paige-Raw Women’s Champion-153 Days
Many looked at Paige’s title win over Emma as a fluke. They thought that it would be another short reign in history. Boy were they wrong. Paige first won the title on the first episode Raw post draft by defeating the first ever champion Emma in a WrestleMania rematch. Many people were shocked at this result, if you ask Paige however she expected this victory as she said Emma’s first win over her was a one time thing. She would go on to fend off formidable challengers such as Charlotte Flair, Naomi twice and then at SummerSlam she would pull the ultimate upset victory defeating Mandy Rose, Emma, Charlotte Flair, and most surprisingly Alexa Bliss to retain the title. Paige proved that you didn’t have to start out good to end up one of the best and proved that working hard to constantly improve yourself would be the most rewarding part as she constantly turned away challengers and foes not by luck but with pure talent. During her reign she would also enlist the help of AJ Lee to become the first ever Co-Raw Women’s Champions. As if facing Paige weren’t enough trouble people would now have to deal with the threat of facing another great competitor in AJ. Aj would do Paige proud and retain the title against long time rival Alicia Fox at Clash of Champions in her first defense. For Paige however it wasn’t the same case. She would defend her title against Carmella and stunningly lost her Women’s Championship, a result many people did not see coming. It would end the longest Raw Women’s title reign at 153 days also the second longest reign of all time.
3. Alexa Bliss-Raw Women’s Champion-145+ Days
The current Reigning Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss has had an interesting reign to say the least. She last defended her title successfully against Nia Jax to send Nia into retirement and looks forward to defending her title for a second year in a row at Elimination Chamber. She won the championship from former champion Carmella after last pinning her in the first ever Raw Women’s Championship hell in a cell match. She would go on to defeat Charlotte Flair and Maryse in the first ever TLC match to retain her championship in dominating and impressive fashion. She currently has held the title for 145 days and looks ready to unseat Paige’s impressive 153 day title reign, in just a little under 2 weeks. This would make Alexa the first and only person to hold 2 title reign records concurrently.
4. Sasha Banks-SmackDown Women’s Champion-111+ Days
The Boss second reign as SmackDown Women’s Champion is certainly looking better than her first. Even though Sasha has one of the shorter title reigns in history she has finally proven herself to keep a hold on a title after successfully defending the championship against Ember Moon in the main event of TLC in a great match and also beating Paige in dominant fashion at the Royal Rumble. She currently holds the record for the second longest run as SmackDown Women’s Champion in history. She has long ways to go before she even comes close to Alexa Bliss’ 204 day title reign but with Bianca BelAir and Naomi by her side lurking, it isn’t out of the realm of possibility and the boss would certainly love to break the Goddess” record and cement her name as the best to ever do it.
5. Fire N’ Desire-WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions-71 Days
The first ever WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions have cracked the top 5 on this list and not because they spent their reign slacking. This team many looked at as the underdogs in the first ever Tag Team Championship match, proved everyone wrong and walked out with 2 new titles and a history making moment cementing them as the first trail blazing team and had to set a standard. They successfully defended the tag team championships against AJ Lee and Alicia Fox at Money in the Bank in a great showing and appeared on both Raw and SmackDown ready to strike down any team that dare step up to them. After 71 days however at WWE Stomping Grounds, they lost the titles to another formidable team in the Lady Squad. Even though there have been many great tag teams none of them have been able to yet top Fire N Desire for the longest championship reign in WWE which speaks volumes about their impact on the original tag division and how it is still felt to this. This team set the bar and so far no one has been able to reach it.
